Doing the Right Thing

Doing the Right Thing is Always the Right Thing!

We have lost the importance of doing the right thing. Some say it starts at the top, and our President and our politicians have no concept of that idea. So, it must start with us.

Now, we each can’t fix everything that is wrong with the neighborhood, city, state, country, or the world. But we can tackle one thing at a time. At times it can be a lonely battle.

There are all kinds of things to tackle: hunger, homelessness, disease research funding, reading in students, governmental oversteps, racism, sexism, ageism, economic inequality, mentoring, environmental issues, localism, and on and on.

There is the feeling now that many more people are out for themselves and their pocketbooks. Sure, we all like money but to gain at the expense of others is just wrong. Many of our politicians are doing it to the detriment of their constituents and they are getting caught. They are flying on first class air tickets, having private phone booths built, taking lavish trips abroad, buying sport tickets on the public’s dime, and much more. I have to mention, fly to a resort every weekend in Florida, to golf? All this while things fall into ruin like roads, schools, hospitals, cities, and necessary programs.

This has to stop. We have to stop it.
