Black Lives Maybe Don’t Matter As Much?

Black Lives Maybe Don’t Matter As Much?

Here is a story about race. It happened to a neighbor and I was asked about it.

About a month ago, a Black man came into our neighborhood. Our neighborhood is lily white with a few Hispanics thrown in. The Black man came to our neighbor’s home because he was a yoga instructor and was giving private sessions to the husband. The wife was out of town with the kids
(They ought be glad she wasn’t sound!). This was not the first time the Black man had come to the house because he was also in business with the wife.

The Black man is large like a football player. To my knowledge he doesn’t rob houses or kidnap White people. That is important because some White people think all Black people commit crimes. That is what they do. White people would NEVER break the law!

The Black man was confronted and followed by a car from our neighborhood. The Black man was also stopped by the police because the police were called. Through The Inspection of Public Records Act - IPRA, our neighbor is getting a copy of the call and the paper record of the call. The Black man was freaked. I don’t know if you know, but there is a history in the country of Black people, who are not breaking the law, stopped and killed by police.

You just can’t have a Black man in our neighborhood. They are not wanted. Who knows what they will do? There should be a sign at the entrance – Black People Do Not Enter! I remember a few years ago, one of my neighbors, not enlightened, said she could not go to the grocery store up the street, because there were too many Hispanics there. She also said she lived in fear that someone would kidnap her. I asked, “Why?”

So the question is, why are some White people threatened by people of different color? I have to be fair, why are some people of color threatened by White people? Aren’t people, people? Is that a simple way to look at people?
