I Will Miss The Sign

Change is the sign of the times, but this one hurts!

The sign that we have loved at Bookworks on Rio Grande Blvd. is gone. All the authors who signed at Bookworks were listed and many people took pictures of the sign and emailed it everywhere.

Who knows why the sign was replaced: was it falling down, did the landlord of the strip-mall want to give all the stores promotion, was it too much trouble to get a Bookworks’ employees to change the sign ALL THE TIME! We don’t know but the sign was cool.

It proclaimed events, signings, sales, touted Lavender in the Village, thanked the fire-people who fought the Bosque fire, proclaimed graduations, and reminded us to get pies at Flying Star for the holidays. Many authors received a lot of publicity from the sign. It is not a big, life-altering thing but I will miss the sign. Progress – oh well!
