The Green Chile Cheeseburger Smackdown

A lot of people found pants with elastic waistbands on Friday for the Green Chile Cheeseburger Smackdown and really chowed down for the night!

This is the second year we have traveled to Santa Fe for the Smackdown and again, it was a hit. You get to sample and vote on 8 burgers and then vote on the best. You had a bunch of beverages you could purchase to accompany your burgers. All that and you get a souvenir glass!

I was partial to the Street Food Institute Burger. The sauce made it. Others who competed: Blue Heron at Sunrise Spring Spa Resort, My Sweet Basil, Red Sage at Buffalo Springs, Agave Lounge at the Eldorado Hotel, Freight House Kitchen, Más Taps y Vino at Hotel Andaluz, and Rowley Farmhouse Ales.

My only suggestion: I want a Smackdown in Albuquerque or Rio Rancho! It would be HOT!!!!!!

Thanks and job well done to Natalie, Stephanie, and many minions!

What a Friday night dinner!
