Thanksgiving

Thank you!

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

We have a number of things to be thankful for: our families, freedoms though they are under fire, our health, work even if you hate it, food, friends, and much more.

This Thanksgiving I am also thankful for: turkey dinner, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, the start of the holidays, time off, fall weather, and a big newspaper.

Notice I didn’t say Black Friday! I am done shopping and now I can enjoy!

Thankful For Small & Local Businesses

One of the things I am thankful for is small and local businesses. I owe a small and local business and I know if we didn’t publish the books we do on New Mexico art, history, and culture with local authors, no one would.

I want to take a minute to shout out:

There used to be a lot more local, small stores and services. A lot have folded up their tents. Walmart drove a lot of them away. I do shop at Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot, and a lot of other national chains, but there is room for everyone. Drop in to your local store and find the treasures they have for this holiday!
