The newest idea in the kitchen — a meal kit! Actually a pretty neat idea!

I have been thinking about trying a meal kit especially when it is so hot. The idea of everything – almost – in one place and in amounts for the dish is appealing including spices. Everyone from Martha Stewart to the Food Network has meal kits. My problem is they have been rather expensive. My other problem is I really don’t want a delivery thief to steal them and if I don’t catch the kits on UPS or US mail right away they will sit in the sun and bake.Imagine my surprise when Smith’s grocery stores had meal kits at the store! And my further surprise that they were 50% off! So the price normally was $18 and lower, but at 50% off they were $9 and lower. A good deal. I tried two and they were OK. A little tweeking and they could be great.
But, when I went to try a different one this week the case was empty and not a meal kit in sight. Were they discontinued already or were we a test sight? I don’t know but I want them back!
