Some Stupid Things That Make You Wonder
KOB TV 4 had a segment on elevators. You would think that elevators in New Mexico would be inspected, but you would be wrong.
The ONLY jurisdiction in New Mexico that inspects elevators is the City of Albuquerque. They probably thought since most (if not all) major states, cities, and counties, inspect their elevators that they would too. Besides all other issues there is that nasty liability issue. Kudos to Albuquerque!
Also kudos to Representatives Martinez and Garcia who have sponsored an elevator safety bill (Maybe the Representative from Grants has had a ride on that terrible elevator in Gallup!). But Representative Georgene Louis (Alb.) has stalled the bill. I guess she decided that people’s safety is not a big issue. Hope she gets stuck in an elevator!
The big controversy of the moment is the parents who paid a bribe to get their students in a top college. Do you remember when you applied to a college that it wasn’t such a big deal? How things have changed or kids have gotten stupider?
There at more than 2,000 illegals that have been exposed to mumps in ICE custody. I bet they didn’t leave their countries to get mumps!
John Oliver had a segment about ROBO calls on his TV show. He ended it with ROBO calls to the FCC Board members. I think it is appropriate since those people have inflicted ROBO calls on us.
Almost all countries in the world have not only banned the Max 8 plane that has had two crashes, but will not allow them in their air space – except the U.S. due to the FAA. So the question is – why are they protecting Boeing?
Finally, Trump has tried to sell that he never called Tim Cook – Tim Apple. There is a video of him doing it and everyone laughed. But I guess Trump thinks we are too stupid to believe our own eyes and ears. Kudos to Tim Cook who changed his name/handle on his social media accounts to Tim Apple.
