Don Bullis & Paul Pletka BIG Winners with Ollie Reed Jr. Honored! What A Night!!!!!!
I am still recovering from the Awards Banquet for the NM & AZ Book Awards. So many good people with good books were honored. Almost 200 people came, ate, and celebrated at Tanoan Country Club. It was a big deal.
Amy Scott who wrote the book on Paul Pletka from University of Oklahoma Press and Don Bullis who wrote New Mexico Historical Chronology by Rio Grande Books were co-Best Books. Ollie Reed Jr., who writes now for the Albuquerque Journal and has promoted country/cowboy culture and local books was honored with the New Mexico Literary Award.

I will remember the rowdy and proud Los Lunas table, Janet Brennan really touched by her award, Francelle Alexander and Ross Van Dusen not believing they had won – twice, and Benjamin Bradford REALLY happy he had won!
